Time Management for Leaders - Brisbane
Time Management for Leaders Brisbane
Working Smarter in the Age of Distraction: A Practical Guide to Living and Working with Purpose, Fulfilment, and a Little Less Stress.
Course Overview
We've all been there, it's late at night, the office is quiet and you're still trawling through a tonne of work which somehow got even bigger while you were at work. As leaders, we are trapped on the hamster wheel of urgent demands, surprise meetings and the sense that we are barely keeping up.
This isn't another time management workshop with cookie cutter productivity tricks. This is a practical, down to earth course created specifically for Australian leaders, who are over feeling like they are drowning in their own success. Having worked with 100's of C Suite Executives throughout Brisbane & Australia, I know that successful time management is NOT about stuffing more into your day, it's about making intelligent decisions that are in line with your objectives as a Business leader.
We will spend our time together on the challenges that are most pressing in your day to day life. We'll discuss why traditional time management methods often let leaders down and what does work when you're in charge of both your own productivity and your team's success. You'll learn simple tips you'll be able to apply to your everyday work flow right away, without starting from scratch or forcing your team to adapt to new, complex processes.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the course, participants will be able to:
Learn to differentiate between what's urgent and what's important in ways that are effective even when you're under pressure
Use successful delegation tactics to develop a team, not to mention free up time for leadership

Build up sustainable work habits that keep you going and won't burn you out.
What You Will Learn
Session 1: The Leadership Time Reality Check
First off, let's dive in and look at how time management looks a bit different when you're in charge of others. You will learn how to recognise the hidden time drains of your UNIQUE leadership role, and discover if the TIME tool you are using right now is actually working against you, not for you.
Session 2: Leader Priority Matrix
We'll go beyond basic urgent/important differentiation, and examine how to view tasks through a leadership perspective. You will learn methodologies for making fast judgements about what deserves your personal attention and what should be delegated to others.
Session 3: Delegation that works!
We will go deep on the art of successful delegation, not just getting rid of stuff to do, but growing your team while still getting quality results. You will be taught how to delegate without micromanaging, how to deal with the inevitable bumps and how, when the time comes, to hand over the reins.
Session 4: Establishing Boundaries Without Feeling Guilty
Establishing boundaries as a leader is an art. We will discuss how to guard your thinking time and still be there for your team, and how you can communicate your availability to actually enhance your leadership and activate possibilities, rather than shut them down.
Session 5: Planning Systems in Dynamic Worlds
You'll find planning methods that will be able to bend with leadership's uncertainty, and keep your eyes on those strategy stars. We'll cover weekly planning, daily prioritisation, and how to bounce back when the best laid plans go off the rails.
Session 6: Dealing with interruptions all the time
Discover some useful ways to handle interruptions that respect your time and your team's time. We will delve into when to say yes, how to say no, and how to teach others to solve their own problems.
Session 7: Tough Time Conversations
Sometimes guarding your time looks like frank discussions with bosses, colleagues, and members of your team about what reasonable expectations and workloads look like. We'll role play these conversations and build your confidence to stand up for sustainability in the workplace!
Chapter 8: And Home to All of God's Creatures
Time management doesn't just involve hours, it also includes energy. You will learn to coordinate your most vital activities with your natural energy flow, develop the climate to support peak effectiveness rather than just repeated efforts to deal with the growing workload, and integrate the Kaizen impacted courses in a way that they will provide the framework for sustained effectiveness, not just periodic productivity surges.
Course Format and Materials
In this engaging course, hands on exercises, real world case studies, and discussion are used to challenge and move the participants beyond the superficial understanding of the Scrum framework and into the underlying principles and values that the framework is based upon. You'll get a complete workbook with templates, checklists, and reference materials that you can put to use long after the course ends. Each session will provide space for peer learning, sharing pain points and solutions with other leaders who are confronting identical issues.
Concluding Remarks
Time management for leadership isn't about becoming a productivity machine, it's about being intentional with your choices so that you can focus on the work that only you can do. This is the course that will give you tools and approaches specifically addressing the real world realities of leading and how to get tangible results within your Company right now.
You will walk away with a renewed sense on how to defend your time and yet preserve the confidence and leadership that you desire. More importantly, you'll have the confidence to get the changes made that you need to win back control of your Schedule/Time and spend it on what will most positively impact your Organisation and make you the hero.
The point isn't to give you more hours in your day, but to help you use the hours you have to move closer to the leadership impact you want to make. When you get good at these principles, you will find that not only will your effectiveness improve, but your entire team will also benefit from a leader who is present, focused and strategic and not a basketcase all the time.
